Head Teacher
Odyssey (Maritime Odyssey Preschool, Odyssey Early Learning Center, and Maritime Odyssey Preschool at NECC) is currently seeking Head Teachers for immediate hire. The preschool partners with the Maritime Aquarium to offer a first-of-its-kind preschool program in Norwalk, CT. Odyssey uses S.T.R.E.A.M. concepts (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) in all areas of our curriculum with an emphasis on marine science. Children learn through exploration, investigation, and experimentation! The children construct their own learning using critical thinking skills, creativity, and innovation. Regular field trips to the aquarium make this an amazing place to work all year! Teachers are given extensive professional development experience and are supported by a Director of Early Learning in addition to a Senior Management team. At Odyssey we encourage and expect teachers to increase their knowledge while facilitating the learning of young children!
Head Teacher Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s in early childhood education or currently enrolled in an accredited program
and pursuing a BA in ECE or a related field. - At least 3 years working in the field of ECE is preferred.
- A passion and commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of young children and
- Hard-working, dependable, reliable with an eagerness to learn.
- Working knowledge of CT Statutes and Regulations and NAEYC Standards preferred.

Assistant Teacher

The preschool partners with the Maritime Aquarium to offer a first-of-its-kind preschool program in Norwalk, CT. Support Staff
Odyssey (Maritime Odyssey Preschool, Odyssey Early Learning Center, and Odyssey Preschool at NECC) is currently seeking Support Staff / Floater positions for immediate hire. Odyssey partners with the Maritime Aquarium to offer a first-of-its-kind preschool program in Norwalk, CT. Our curriculum integrates S.T.R.E.A.M. concepts (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) in all areas of learning, with a strong emphasis on marine science.
This role provides classroom support across age groups—helping teachers with daily routines, covering staff breaks, assisting with putting children on and taking them off the school bus, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for every child.
Support Staff Qualifications
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children (preferred but not required)
- A passion and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young children and families
- Hardworking, dependable, reliable, and eager to learn
- Working knowledge of Connecticut Statutes and Regulations and NAEYC Standards (preferred)
- Must be fingerprinted and receive a background check prior to employment
Job Type: Part-time, non-exempt position. No benefits offered.
